This 1-day online short course is an introduction to scoping, mapping and evidence gap map (EGM) reviews and is designed for those wishing to use, or support others using this methodology. Some understanding of systematic review methods would be useful. Teaching will be delivered by researchers actively using these methodologies to support decision making. It is a collaboration between Newcastle University and The University of Sheffield.
Objectives: The purpose of this short course is to introduce attendees to the methods underpinning these ‘big picture’ review types and how they differ from other types of evidence synthesis. Developing search strategies, data extraction and coding tools will be covered, as well as using EPPI-Reviewer and EPPI-Mapper to create Evidence and Gap Maps.
